About Kean Matthams

Summary

My whole life I've been surrounded by architecture, art, and design. My father, legendary local architect and designer John Matthams, has been teaching me his approach to envisioning and designing iconic homes built to maximize the incredible settings of Pebble Beach and Carmel. I grew up on job sites that were alive with the energy of the new homeowners, contractors, wood workers, and engineers. As an intern at the architectural firm, I began to understand the importance of listening to customers, aligning on a vision, and living up to all of the commitments I make. These are lifelong tools required to cultivate and maintain sincere relationships with partners and clients.

After graduating from Stevenson School in Pebble Beach and SMU in Dallas, I spent several years in New York City and Los Angeles involved in art and film. I have extensive experience creating and producing compelling stories via digital and video messaging. I am extremely capable on both sides of a camera, which has proven to be a very valuable tool in marketing luxury Real Estate. I am creative, dedicated and hard working. Together with my partners, Sharon Matthams and Emily Weidner, I push a little harder each day to ensure I am living up to the quality, integrity and success my family has demonstrated for over 40 years. I use this commitment to excellence, local knowledge, and my lifelong relationships to create successful outcomes for my clients.

When I'm not showing Real Estate I can be found walking my dog Allie on Carmel Beach, running the recreation trail along the coast, or hiking in Big Sur with my camera and tripod in tow.
