Are You Ready to Be Rated?
With
school starting, students are flocking to Rate-my-Professor.com to read peer
ratings of professors before deciding on which classes to take. While
professors may cringe at the very idea of being rated by their students
publicly online, the ratings are out there nonetheless. These ratings can not
only let professors know which areas they excel in as educators, but can also
enlighten them on areas for improvement. Important for some, certainly. Yet
imagine how much more significant those ratings would be if a professor were
paid by the number of students who attended his or her classes.
The same concept applies to the real estate industry, only with much more
significant stakes. In real estate, meeting the consumer’s needs are the single
most important factor impacting the agent’s – and the broker’s – bottom line.
Savvy professionals are constantly looking at what those needs are, and to the emerging
places where those needs are identified, modified, and validated: the consumer
review.
Given
how increasingly critical consumer reviews have become in terms of an agent’s
ability to successfully market to prospective clients, it’s astonishing how few
are willing to take an active role in the process. These ratings are already
out there, on un-policed social websites including YELP, Rate My Agent and
others, and it is of vital importance for agents and brokers alike to begin to
take part in the conversation and help manage their online presence.
MLSListings
has partnered with the California Association of REALTORS® to deliver REALTOR
Ratings, an easy to manage, trusted and credible program to help agents solicit
reviews from customers, market their talents and differentiate themselves from
competition, and to help consumers make a well-researched and informed decision

businesses need improvement, paving the way for constructive growth.
